IT FUN PEOPLE (President & CEO Kenichi Ito, hereinafter "IFP") announced on the 1st that it has officially launched its global electronic payment service, "GOMPAY JAPAN," and signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korean fintech company GOMINC Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Hyun) to expand in the Japanese and global payment markets.
Through this partnership, the two companies plan to jointly promote the global electronic payment service business with Japan as a key base, while expanding payment infrastructure and financial services for overseas e-commerce businesses.
GOMPAY JAPAN is an electronic payment service available in 230 countries worldwide, based on a global payment gateway and card acquiring services. The service provides a stable payment processing environment with an overseas card approval rate of approximately 97%, as well as a security framework compliant with the international PCI DSS information security standard. It offers an integrated payment environment for global e-commerce operators.
In particular, GOMINC, the Korean partner, is an official WeChat Pay partner and an electronic payment provider qualified to process Visa brand acquiring transactions. Through this partnership, the company plans to provide an integrated payment service in the Japanese market that covers both global credit card payments and WeChat Pay, China's leading mobile payment service.
The two companies will focus on Chinese tourists visiting Japan and Japan's cross-border e-commerce market as key target segments. By building payment infrastructure that supports both global card payments and Chinese mobile payments, they aim to strengthen their competitiveness in the Japanese market.
James Kim, Director of IFP, said, "Many businesses perceive global electronic payment services as complex to implement because regulations and payment environments differ by country. GOMPAY JAPAN is designed to enable businesses to build a global payment environment without establishing an overseas corporation." He added, "We will continue to provide payment modules and plugins for various e-commerce solutions so that operators of existing online stores and web services can easily and quickly introduce global payments without additional development burden."
Lee Hyun, CEO of GOMINC, said, "Japan is one of the world's leading e-commerce markets and a key market where demand for digital payments continues to grow. By combining our operational experience as an official WeChat Pay partner with IFP's local infrastructure in Japan, we expect to provide a competitive electronic payment service that targets both credit card payments and WeChat Pay in the Japanese market."
Going forward, IFP plans to provide integrated services through GOMPAY JAPAN, including global payment gateway services, overseas card acquiring, integration with local payment methods such as WeChat Pay, and e-commerce site development and operation support. The company will continue to expand its payment infrastructure across Asia and the global market, with Japan as its central base.
